Bigger disposable savings thanks to SATA

The popularity of SATA’s clever RPS Disposable Cup system has resulted in the launch of a 900ml version (joining the existing 600ml cup), giving the opportunity to reap the benefits on jobs where more volume is required.

For added versatility it can be fitted to SATA spray guns and other spray gun brands by using an adaptor.

Importantly, it works in exactly the same way as a conventional vented gravity flow cup. Therefore, painters can enjoy the advantages of using the SATA RPS (Rapid Preparation System) Disposable Cup system without downsides – there’s no need to change application settings or techniques and the end result is not affected.

What paint and panel shop owners get is a host of significant efficiency and cost saving gains.

For example, in paint preparation one RPS Disposable Cup is all that is needed for paint mixing, spraying, refilling and storage.

Because mixing is done directly in the cup a separate mixing container is no longer needed, the cup’s internal strainer sieve means a paper filter also isn’t required and there’s no paint wastage in transferring from the mixing container to the cup.

When the job is done it saves valuable labour time and materials as well. There’s no need to spend time and use large amounts of solvent to clean a conventional pot – simply throw the RPS Disposable Cup away and the gun’s material passage is the only cleaning required.

There are also excellent time savings available when more than one colour is being sprayed in the booth.

To swap colours or switch to clearcoat, simply remove one RPS cup, clean the gun’s material passage, fit the next colour RPS cup and continue spraying. In these situations the accessory SATA Six Cup Carrier is ideal.

To further boost efficiency it allows up to six mixed cups (say, a wet-on-wet primer, several basecoat colours and clearcoat) to be carried into the booth where they are on-hand for the technician.

RPS Disposable Cups consist of three components – the cup, a lid (with two non-drip devices) and a strainer sieve.

The 900ml cups are available with the choice of either a 125 micron or 200 micron strainer sieve. They will attach directly to all late model SATA spray guns with either a standard cup fitting (thread) or a QCC design. A special adaptor is available to convert older model SATA guns and other spray gun brands to fit RPS cups.

The original 600ml RPS Disposable Cup system introduced the outstanding concept for saving paint shop time (labour charges) and materials and now the launch of 900ml cups adds even more versatility. Available through local PPG Plus distributors.
