THE NEW ELEKTRON Multispot MI-100control inverter spot welder has a new control feature that Car-O-Liner, the Australian distributor, says provides quality spot-welding in every case.

The Multispot automatically recognises and compensates for surface irregularities. These are often encountered with the adhesion of primers, glues and anti-rust lacquers. This feature controls clamping force and keeps up a consistent energy level to compensate for heat loss depending on the quality and
thickness of the sheets being welded.

The unit has a memory which already contains OEM programs for popular cars sold in Australia and new vehicle programs can be added from a compact flash card. The water cooling system can take tough
welding requirements of up to 12,000 amps. Cooling all the way to the welding tips is achieved through the use of a refrigeration system at the front of the Multispot. Tips can be changed for different welding
requirements and the cooling line is easily unplugged.

The Multispot has recently been approved by Ferrari and is also approved by BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Daimler-Chrysler, Porsche, Opel and Volkswagen.
