USING AN OXY-ACETLYLENE torch for heating applications wastes energy and can be dangerous. Acetylene is very infammable and unstable and under certain conditions this can decompose explosively into its constituent parts, carbon and hydrogen, causing a flashback.
The flame could ignite the oxy acetylene mixture travelling backwards from the torch along the hoses all the way back to the cylinder, with dire consequences.
Car-O-Liner Australia wants to stop all that and has recently released the CH37 high powered induction heater providing fast, consistent heat induced electrical currents within the torch head.
Heat shrinking steel and aluminium panels, paint stripping, removing rusty nuts and bolts and many other applications can be applied because there are no flames and the unit is much safer to use.
The CH37 can be used in the same way as a torch and does not destroy heat sensitive parts and the unit will not heat through rubber or plastic.
The system works with the power supply sending alternating current through the torch head, creating a magnetic field and when the torch head comes in close contact to the workpiece, the magnetic field induces eddy currents that generate precise amounts of clean, localised heat done without physical contact to the workplace.
A front panel allows heat control and there are five easily adjusted power levels with a unique regulator and control system. This means the user avoids overheating while getting control of power.
The induction heater is more energy efficient and you do not need to store gas cylinders. Single phase power is the main source of energy.
