Peter Savige has been elected, unopposed, to the post of President of VACC.

Peter becomes the 55th President of the 96 year old peak automotive industry body in Victoria, taking over from Immediate Past President, John Buskes, at last night’s AGM.

Peter first joined VACC in 1985. He is well equipped for the role, having been Vice President for two years and is a current member of the Executive Board, Board of Management, the Finance and Audit Committee as well as the Investment Committee.

Savige was elected Chairman of VACC’s Used Car Traders Division (UCTD) in 1999, making him the longest serving, current, Executive Committee Chairman.
“I would like to sincerely thank John Buskes for his two years as President. John brought energy to the position and provided sound leadership. It is an honour to be elected the 55th President of VACC. I will do my very best to support and promote the interests of all members and I look forward to working with new Executive Director, Geoff Gwilym,” Savige said.

Peter Savige is well-respected in the automotive industry. He owns Hilton Motor Company, Cheltenham North, he is a Licensed Motor Car Trader and sits on the Motor Car Traders Guarantee Fund. He’s a popular figure among used car traders and well-known to VACC members and staff.

Away from work, Savige is a member of the Albert Park Yacht Club, a car restorer and charity fund raiser. Savige competes in the annual Variety Club Bash, Australia’s largest motoring event and, earlier this year, along with his team, Car 55, helped raise $341,000 for disadvantaged and special needs children.
