Alignment and Measuring Systems

Autorobot Finland has released its newest bench, which becomes part of its world-renowned line of repair equipment. The Autorobot B20, the next generation straightening bench, provides current techniques for today?s high technology vehicles.
Autorobot B20 is from a development team with extensive experience in professional body repair. The B20 straightening bed works with double action hydraulics. This technique provides swift vehicle mounting and allows adjusting of the bed length in accordance with the vehicle length.
With Autorobot B20, straightening work is more productive than ever before by means of the new pulling tower with double action hydraulics. This allows pushing and pulling, which have become necessary in straightening work involving the new generation steels.
?The combinations of pull and push helps to guide and direct the straightening and support so that the straightening force affects the damaged area only," says Robert Gray of SAPE. ?The B20 is simply quicker, smarter and stronger that many of the larger repair benches available on today?s market?.
Combine the strength of the B20 with Autorobot measuring systems and you are prepared for all repairs, regardless of size. Whether you are looking for manual or electronic measuring to compliment your equipment, Autorobot is the ultimate measuring tool. Autorobot?s ability to provide a comprehensive array of both underbody and overhead measurements enables the operator to better solve even the most awkward repair measurement problem.

The strength of alignment benches is likely to become a lively toAlthough there will never be a Choice Magazine test on all the makes and models, Globaljig certainly looks the part with its chunky steel beams and hefty pulling arms. Australian distributor Charlie Scalzi (also an accomplished wine maker) believes that Globaljig's multi directional force robotic arm and short pulling distances between jig pins is ideal to handle the tougher new materials, although he doesn't make the claim that it is the strongest bench on the market. That's a matter for the Italian maker of the machine.
Scalzi, now 56, and with an engineering background of 40 years, quips he doesn't sell Globaljig; people buy it. He also points out that it is not as costly as many imagine. $71,000 will set up the basic system.

All New Autorobot Speed Bench Generation II
Sydney Automotive Paints & Equipment has released the Autorobot Speed Bench Generation II, an adaptation of the immensely successful current model.
?The launch of the original Autorobot Speed Bench helped push the sales of Autorobot repair benches back up to the levels of the heydays of the eighties and early nineties, Terry Feehan from SAPE said. "The great benefit of the Autorobot Speed Bench is that it can satisfy the demand for speed on light pulls, but can also handle the hardest of hits, which is often a failing of other smaller fast benches on the market."
The Generation II Autorobot Speed Bench is packed with features, including: 10-tonne single bolt sill clamps; 10-tonne pull beam; 10-tonne hydraulics; downward pulling wheel; 3400kg lift; mobile wheel set and winch.
The new Speed Bench also comes fully equipped with the all-new Autorobot telesco? It is no longer a necessity to invest in another bench for the bigger accidents and four wheel drives. The Autorobot Speed Bench can handle them all?, Feehan said.
The entire Generation II Autorobot Speed Bench package is worth over $25,000. However, with the backing of Autorobot Finland, SAPE can offer this unique package for only $19,950 plus GST.

The Celette Rhone Drive-On
The Celette Rhone Drive-On repair bench coupled with Naja computerised measuring makes major and minor repairs easy, fast and very accurate.
Celette is world famous for its jigging systems for the prestige market. However, the new Rhone bench is available for normal straightening of all cars, including locally produced vehicles and can be used in conjunction with a measuring system. The Rhone bench is supplied with an electro-hydraulic scissor lift hoist, drive-on ramps, pulling post, vector pull attachment, four-wheel-drive kit, loading trolley and more.
The 4.5metre bench is remarkably easy to load, utilising the tilting bed and drive-on facility. For badly damaged vehicles there is a loading trolley available to ensure easy loading. Once the vehicle is loaded, the ramps can be easily removed and stored if required, giving the technician greater access.
The Naja computerised measuring system, which is approved by many of the major vehicle manufactures including BMW, is very user friendly and contains data on all vehicles, including locally produced and four-wheel-drive vehicles. The Naja is quite unique as it provides accurate information from a damage diagnosis through to the before and after data facility - and much more.
The Celette Rhone bench and Naja measuring is an impressive alternative to other benches currently available and are well worth investigating.

Praise for Dataliner
Dataliner,a Swedish company manufacturing alignment and measuring systems, has been in Australia for over 30 years. The models it offers are DL800, DL 9000 drive-on, DL 3000 drive-on, and Echo 500 drive-on.
All benches use the ?vector pull system?, which is more powerful than a dozer arm, lighter to use and set up, and allows multiple pulls from any angle.
Ray & Helen Pitts, of Tankard Panel Service in Ringwood, Melbourne, recently installed a Dataliner 3000 drive-on bench. Ray Pitts says: ?it is brilliant. It has stepped up our production dramatically. We always have a car on it and definitely recommend it to other shops. We sold our other two benches and have never looked back.?
Trevor & Karen Williams of Williams Smash Repairs in Orange NSW, say ?we couldn?t do the work on our previous bench, so we sold it and put in the DL9000. It is amazing in its ability to hold and pull in any direction, including straight up, which we needed on a Camry and Corolla recently. It is so versatile that it is only limited by your imagination. We do a lot of 4WD?s and the laser measuring has made it very easy to pinpoint the damage, especially when the chassis has gone into a diamond condition. It has given us the confidence to be able to repair any job that comes in the door.?
Richard & Nerissa Marat of Highlands Smash Repairs, Mittagong, installed a DL3000 bench with scissor lift and laser measuring in February this year. Richard Marat says: ?getting a car on and off the Dataliner is so much faster than the two previous benches we had. Apart from doing major work We find it much easier for all the smaller jobs that only need a minor pull.
The laser measuring is versatile in that you can watch the various points come into line as you pull them - without having to get under the car to check pointers, as we did before. We can also measure a car separately off the bench, before doing a quote.?

New New Contact measuring system

A new electronic measuring system just introduced by Car Bench can measure not only the under-body of a car but the upper body, inside and out.
Joe Rugolo of Car Bench says the Contact measuring system takes about 15 to 20 minutes to measure and diagnose what has to be corrected subject, of course, to the size of the motor vehicle.
Training is provided to the same high standard given to purchasers of all car bench equipment. Contact is user-friendly and easy to lean and operate
Contact comes from the makers of Car Bench, a leading jig based alignment system distributed in Australia by Melbourne based smash repair suppliers, Tony and Joe Rugolo. The new measuring system comes in the form of an articulated arm which measurers and diagnosis repairs that need to be carried out. Its compact size means that it can be placed easily and rapidly on virtually any part of a bench to take measurements. It can also be supplied with an adjustable tripod axle stand that can easily be positioned at virtually any height to allow complete and precise measurements of the entire body.
The Contact system is not confined to Car Bench. It can be used with any type of bench or lifting system on the market. The Contact's measuring range allows the operator to carry out measuring on the whole frame of the vehicle without having to move the unit from its original position. No adapters are needed during the measuring process. Instead, there is a tracer point that can quickly be positioned into three different angles.

Shark still a leader
Shark is remains one of the most popular universal electronic measuring system for diagnosis and repair of auto bodies.
It has eanred a reputation for being easy and fast to use, reliable,
extremely precise and gives repetitive results on all test points.
Although shark electronic measuring is much easier than mechanical measuring, is uses the same logic. The ultrasonic technology and the highly developed computer programme used by the Shark make it particularly user-friendly.
Shark will compliment all Blackhawk straightening systems and can be used in conjunction with many others. It three components comprise:
? Ultrasonic emitting probes, with magnetic connection.
? Receiving beam.
? Console with DELL computer, HP printer, keyboard, colour screen and drawers for the accessories.
Up to 12 points (eight on average) are controlled simultaneously ? an important and unique asset for measuring during straightening procedures.
When setting up for a job the points to be controlled, and the few accessories to be installed, are indicated on the screen. Before the job is commenced and after it is completed a printed proof of the vehicle dimensions re produced by the Shark system.
Over 95 per cent of the world?s vehicles are in the Shark database, with CD-Rom updates available.
The shark program is simple to use ? even for a beginner. The screen displays the procedure step by step. Every 3 seconds, Shark compares the real dimensions of the vehicle to the manufacturer dimensions. The screen shows measurements and schematic illustrations which can be printed at any time.
Blackhawk has now released its full range of products into the Australian market.
