So the more dust that is removed the quicker the job and the better the finish. It is very important to the dry sanding process to have the correct suction rate and flow rate. The suction picks up and removes the random particle from the work face and the flow rate carries the dust to the filter within the vacuum where it is captured by the appropriate filters. Too much suction will overload the tool and may cause scratch damage to the substrate surface while not enough suction will not remove sufficient particle, very important to the resultant scratch pattern.
