Greater welding capacity

Welding equipment

Welding machine specialist Kemppi has added a new model to its Mastertig AC/DC Series -- the 200 Amp AC/DC 2000 TIG machine -- that can preserve a sharp tungsten tip even when welding aluminium. What is gained is greater welding capacity from a single phase outlet.
While most AC output TIG machines used on aluminium heat up and form a black ball on its tungsten tip, Mastertig machines have a unique AC wave to prevent this build up and maintain that sharp tip required to weld in deep corners.
On a 250A machine the Mastertig will use one tungsten tip diameter whereas with many machines on the market an operator is likely to change the tip once or twice to cope with the load.
Although very economical with power, Mastertig AC/DC 2000 is one of the most powerful single phase TIG welding machines providing 200 Amps output from a 240 Volt single phase supply.
The Mastertig series has compact TIG/MMA inverters for AC/DC welding with both polarities.
Kemppi's Automatic Balance control helps achieve an excellent final result in aluminium welding. The user selects the balance according to the size and tip form of the electrode and the machine automatically takes care of the rest.
Sophisticated balance control allows the use of a sharp electrode head form in order to increase productivity.

New generation spot welders
Hirane Company of Japan has been manufacturing spot welders since 1976. Now in 2003, Hirane is offering a complete new generation of spot welders, giving the customer even more facilities from one machine.
The Three Phase Model AS200 offers an output of 75KVA from a D.C. full wave transformer. This model is the most powerful portable spot welder of its type, producing the closest possible factory type welds. Hirane's patented Three-Cable System for single-sided spot welding uses a system of two earth shoes and one electrode, which gives 20 per cent more current passing through the weld, resulting in a much stronger and larger spot weld. The AS200 also has a patented Weld Through facility for use in welding coated and painted surfaces.
One problem every panel beater has with spot welding is that if half the metal is not correctly prepared it is sometimes difficult to make a circuit between the tips and produce a spot weld. In areas like the sill panel to the floor panel it is very difficult to remove the underbody coating or around the wheel arch panel. The Hirane Weld Through facility enables you to produce good welds providing only one surface is bare steel.
Hirane Autospotter utilises air cooled cables and a transformer, which allow continuous welding for long periods. The Autospotter package includes manual and air operated double-sided guns and a full range of accessories for dent pulling, stitch welding, copper shrinking, carbon shrinking and nut, stud and washer welding.

Innovative welding solutions
Kemppi has designed a new multifunction range of welding machines with considerable operating advantages over conventional MIG/MAG/MMA welding power sources.
Based on modern 320A (Kempomig 3200) and 400A (Kempomig 4000) inverter power sources, each of these units is also available in a 'W' version with an easy to fill water cooling unit.
For 1-knob-welding operations, Kempomig's wire feeder unit 'Feed 400' has 20 standard programs for synergic control, with power adjustments made on the control panel or via remote control of the PMT MIG gun.
Program functions can be seen on a digital display panel, and the overall benefit is the help gained in avoiding defects during work. Kempomig units also have a crater filling operation.
Welders benefit from several remote control options including C 110D and RMT 10, synchronising unit SYNC 400 for the Push-Pull guns, as well as the Gas Guard feature.
Feed 400 allows fast and simple adjustments of the welding process to give welders flexibility, reliability and continuity during operation.
The wire feed mechanism is a four-roll SL 400 with automatic wire inch. Maximum wire feed speed can be set to 18 m/min or 25 m/min by selecting the required gear supplied with the machine.
With the MIG Minilog (4-TL) facility, a welder can pre-select an additional current value from the function panel and, after selecting the main welding current values, can select either Hot Start (a current value greater than the main welding current) or a value lower than the main welding current.
What this feature does is regulate heat input by switching between two current values when welding, and it controls weld pools when root gaps vary by rapidly changing power levels via the torch trigger.
MIG/MAG welding can be controlled in conventional manner with independent control of wire feed speed and voltage or with synergic 1-knob control.
Included in the Kempomig package is a connection cable, MIG welding gun and earth cable.

Rejuvenate your spot weld drill bits
Australian Warehouse Distributors has introduced a spot weld drill bit re-sharpening service. This service allows for old, worn out and broken tip spot weld drill bits to be re-sharpened and returned to the customer in as new condition. Spot weld drill bits ranging from 6.0mm to 10.0mm can be re-sharpened. The minimum length of the drill bit must be greater than 35mm.

Versatile welding from Dataliner
The latest Dataliner M11 spot welder is a big asset to any workshop because of its innovative design, claims the company. It is counter-balanced on a moveable stand which allows it to reach high turrets on cars and vans without any long heavy cables to lift and is therefore more versatile than most other makes of welder. It is also computerised to give consistently identical welds.

Car-O-Liner releases new range
Car-O-Liner's new family of resistance and mig/mag welders offers increased performance and durability for modern day production body shops, and also meets specific requirements for vehicle manufacturers.
Car-O-Liner has two resistance welders, and both offer unique features in performance and power.
The CR 100 is a multi-functional, two-phase 32-amp resistance welder that produces a very powerful 8000 amps at the tips, and has four cables, two for the C-tong and two for the multi-function gun. The CR 100 has a unique C-tong designed for easy access and easy changing of the C-arm.
The CR 300 is a third-generation spot welder, a unique, multi-functional, three phase 32 amp and four cable resistance welder which produces a massive 9500 amps at the tips. The CR 300 has six easy-to-select welding programs with 10 power levels on each program and an LCD display that shows the elected program.
The CR 300 features the same unique C-tong, air-cooling, and multi-function as the CR 100.
Car-O-Liner also offers three compact, high performance mig/mag welders; the CM181, CM193 and CM 273.
All have a built-in mps control box which allows users to automatically spot and stitch weld. As an option, it is possible to have a remote torch to control mps.
CM181 is a 160 amp single-phase mig weld. It can hold 6-8mm wire and either 5-15kg reels. CM193 is a 180amp three-phase. It can hold 6-10mm wire and 5-15kg reels. CM 273 is a 250-amp three-phase mig and aluminium welder which can hold 6-12mm steel wire, and in aluminium 1mm.
Complimentary to the spot and mig welders, Car-O-Liner offers a spot weld drill, which comes complete in a moulded plastic case with 3 x 8mm drill bits and oil, as well as a 25,000 revolutions per minute, 2" flexible sander with quick twist pad replacement and the AP95 air-puller. Good for hail, small dents, panel shrinking and panels where access is nil or limited. It has a power lift and can be adapted to CR 100 and CR 300 as standard.
