The Paint and Panel LIVE conference in Sydney on August 7 is shaping up to be a must see event for the independent smash repairer.
Using a real smash repair shop as a case study, the conference will focus on practical ways to improve your business image and practices. Speakers and a panel of industry experts will explore the specialisation options which independents must consider to survive and thrive in an arena increasingly made up of MSOs (multi-site operators) and where complex vehicle technology and spiralling costs will impair the ability to repair all makes.
Andrew Minns, Subaru's category manager – Collision, will be bringing along two Subaru repairers and examining the pros and cons of 'having a badge' and looking at future challenges that are surfacing for repairers.
John Barry, owner of award-winning fleet repair shop Flagstaff Autobody in Melbourne will be explaining the roller coaster ride that specialising in fleet can be and will be bringing along a fleet manager to talk from 'the other side of the fence'.
Of course there are many more speakers from different parts of the industry and supporting industries such as marketing and business coaching.
Subaru is not only contributing to the conference content but is also one of the event sponsors. Subaru's Minns said: “With the advancements to technology in modern vehicles, Subaru Australia are committed to ensuring our network of Preferred Collision Repairers have access to all the latest information, training and support to assist them with repairs after a collision. Subaru Australia believes that in the future, manufacturer specialist repairers suitably trained and equipped will be the smart choice for collision repairs".
