NRMA head of claims Sue Houghton has left the insurer on the back of a restructuring program.

Houghton has been joined by former head of claims David Brown, who had been head of sales and service and Graeme Adams who was head of CTP, in leaving the insurer after the announcement of the restructure.

In a statement, NRMA Insurance has confirmed it is implementing a new executive structure effective Monday 3 May.

The changes will see the creation of a new Chief Operating Office (COO) business unit that
combines the customer facing divisions and a new business unit, Pricing Risk and Change,
(PR&C) that combines the pricing functions.

The COO will have responsibility for all of the business operations including sales and service, claims, CTP claims and injury management, and retail business insurance (RBI).

Pricing risk and change will have responsibility for pricing all products.

The statement said that as a result of having fewer divisions, changes had occurred to the NRMA Insurance executive team, which resulted in Houghton, Brown and Adams deciding to leave the organisation.

These changes are confined to the executive team, the statement said.

Roy Briggs, who holds the role of supply chain manager, claims, will be acting head of claims until a permanent appointment is made to the role.
