ACM Parts has taken the next step in its business plan with the launch of DIY Auto Parts self-service yard in Broadmeadows.
Located in one of Victoria's biggest auto hubs, DIY Auto Parts offers more than 800 cars over 9 acres, with plans to grow stock to 900 cars.
The DIY Auto Parts business is managed by local Sean Vains, who hosted an Open Day event at the Camp Rd site on Saturday 2 May.
ACM Parts CEO Mike Kirkman said the launch of the Victorian self-service yard was an important milestone in the delivery of the ACM Parts’ business plan.
“Our vision is to offer repairers and consumers high quality parts that are easy, fast and cost-effective to source,” Kirkman said. “An important part of that is offering parts direct to consumers through a self-serve model.
“At DIY Auto Parts we have 800 car bodies from more than 20 manufacturers, so car enthusiasts can find the parts they need at a great price.”
More than 700 people attended the open day, which featured a free BBQ and prizes, including the Triple M ‘Loot in the Boot’ competition, where a listener won $5000. Collingwood Football Club star Jamie Elliott also made a guest appearance.
Australians retire 600,000 vehicles a year and only a tiny fraction of the parts in those cars are being re-used.
“Of the thousands of individual parts on a modern motor vehicle, only 15-20 parts are commonly recycled,” Kirkman said.
“That’s a huge waste of OE parts that can be re-used by consumers as affordable, environmentally-friendly parts options.”
DIY Auto Parts is located at 21 Camp Road, Broadmeadows, Victoria.
