Sherwin-Williams has completed its acquisition of New Zealand-based DBNZ, strengthening its position in the automotive refinish market across Australia and New Zealand.
The acquisition brings together Sherwin-Williams' global coatings expertise with DBNZ's more than 25 years of experience distributing premium refinishing systems to collision repair businesses, vehicle dealerships and fleet operators.
Sherwin-Williams said the deal would enhance its ability to support customers throughout the region as demand continues to grow for high-performance automotive refinish products and services.
DBNZ has built a strong reputation supplying refinishing systems to the repair industry from its Hamilton base, with a focus on products designed for professional collision repair facilities and commercial customers.
Sherwin-Williams ANZ general manager Richard R. Reneman said the acquisition aligned with the evolving needs of customers across both countries.
Reneman said combining the experience and technical expertise of the DBNZ team with the scale and reach of Sherwin-Williams would help drive customer success while expanding the company's automotive refinish offering.
He added that growing demand for high-performance coating solutions made the acquisition a strategic fit for the business and its customers across Australia and New Zealand.
The transaction also expands Sherwin-Williams' presence in a sector undergoing continual technological change, with repairers increasingly seeking advanced coating systems that deliver productivity, colour accuracy and durability.
