MTA Queensland has announced the finalists for its 2026 Industry Awards, recognising businesses and individuals making a significant contribution across the state’s automotive sector.

The winners will be announced at the MTA Queensland Industry Awards Gala at The Star Brisbane, Queen’s Wharf, on Saturday, November 28.

The event will bring together automotive businesses, industry leaders, apprentices and guests from across Queensland, with awards recognising business excellence, innovation, community involvement and emerging industry talent.

MTA Queensland CEO Rod Camm said the calibre of the finalists demonstrated the strength and diversity of Queensland’s automotive industry.

“From family-owned workshops and large automotive groups to apprentices beginning their careers and individuals driving positive change in their communities, these finalists represent the innovation, commitment, and leadership that continue to strengthen our industry,” Camm said.

“Being named a finalist is a significant achievement and recognises the outstanding contribution each of these businesses and individuals is making to Queensland’s automotive industry.”

Finalists for the Small Business Award for Excellence are Accelerate Automotive, Empire Auto Garage, Exclusive Auto Centre, Hi-Mech Auto Solutions and Ja-Max Industries.

The Large Business Award for Excellence finalists are ASR Collision Specialists, Bridgestone Sumner Park, Bundaberg Motor Group, Q Automotive Group and Sommerville Smash Repairs.

Five finalists have also been selected for the Women in Industry award: Ange Thornton from Ultra Tune Macgregor, Bec Marsh from Varsity Lakes Mechanical, Caitlyn Hayes from Komatsu, Jessica Colucci from Isuzu and Taylor Deeth from MLG.

Community involvement will also be recognised, with B&B Fibreglass, Bill Robertson Toyota, BMAS Biloela, Pearson Automotive and Toowoomba Steering & Suspension named as Community Award finalists.

Meanwhile, BodyShop Solutions, Foton Mobility Distribution, Premium Diagnostic Equipment, Track Back Auto and Vesta Workwear will contest the Innovation Award.

Camm said the awards provided an opportunity to acknowledge achievements throughout the industry while bringing the sector together.

“The Industry Awards are about recognising those achievements and bringing our industry together to celebrate the people who make it such a strong and vibrant sector,” he said.

The awards highlight the scale of Queensland’s automotive industry, which MTA Queensland says comprises approximately 17,500 businesses, employs around 90,000 people and contributes an estimated $10.2 billion annually to the state economy.

Tickets for the gala are now available, with early-bird pricing running until October 30. The evening will include dining, drinks, entertainment and live music alongside the presentation of the 2026 awards.
