A Lamborghini Diablo and rare Ferrari Spider owned by businessman, media personality and former Geelong mayor Darryn Lyons are heading to auction.
The cars form part of a seven-auction sale of Lyons’ private collection through Lloyds Auctions, with every lot opening from $1.
The Lamborghini Diablo is linked to a childhood ambition, while the champagne-gold Ferrari Spider was acquired during Lyons’ years in London.
The wider collection spans decades of buying across London, Paris, Saint-Tropez, New York, Dubai, Africa and Australia. It includes luxury watches, designer fashion, fine art, wine, antiques, photography and celebrity memorabilia.
“This is the kind of collection that draws attention because it crosses so many worlds at once, cars, celebrity culture, fashion, sport, antiques and personal history,” said Lloyds Auctions chief operations officer Lee Hames.
