Fourteen 2025 XPENG G6 electric SUVs are going under the hammer at Pickles as Australia’s growing appetite for electric vehicles begins flowing more strongly into the used-car market.

The vehicles, including near-new and demonstrator examples, are being offered through the Pickles Major Event Electric Vehicle Sale, which opens online today, Monday August 31. All vehicles are already in Australia and will be available following the sale.

Adding to their appeal, XPENG Australia has confirmed all 14 vehicles will be covered by its recently announced seven-year factory-backed warranty.

The manufacturer recently extended its seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty to eligible G6 vehicles previously sold through its former distribution network.

Pickles general manager, automotive solutions Brendon Green said manufacturer support and reliable information about vehicle condition could help provide confidence for used EV buyers.

“Knowing you have factory backing after you purchase the vehicle, together with independent information about battery condition before you buy, provides an important level of reassurance,” Green said.

Battery condition is a major consideration when purchasing a used EV and all XPENGs tested ahead of the auction recorded a battery State of Health of at least 98.6 per cent.

That compares with an average of approximately 96 per cent across EVs previously tested by Pickles, including older and higher-mileage vehicles.

Pickles uses battery testing technology from European diagnostics specialist AVILOO, with detailed battery certificates available to prospective buyers.

Green said interest in EVs through Pickles had grown rapidly, with searches on its website more than doubling earlier this year as fuel prices increased, while EV auction clearance rates reached 100 per cent.

“What we’re seeing now suggests this isn’t simply a short-term reaction,” he said.

“EVs are becoming a much bigger part of the Australian vehicle market and we’re seeing that increasingly flow through to the secondary market.”

The 14 XPENG G6s are being sold under instruction from a major financier.

The online auction opens at 10am AEST today and closes at 7pm AEST on Wednesday, September 2, with buyers able to inspect vehicle details, photographs and battery information before bidding.
