Almost every driver has experienced an accident or near miss but sometimes they are at a loss to explain exactly how it happened – or that it wasn’t their fault. Now there is the technology to prove what unfolded.
Just like a black box recorder that is fitted in aircraft, Roadhawk Australasia has released the RH-2 in-car camera safety system. This unobtrusive black box camera, which the suppliers claim is smaller than a TV remote control, continually records video and GPS data in case of a road incident.
With it’s dual cameras, one facing the inward side of the vehicle and other facing outward in the direction the car is travelling, it records exactly what is happening both inside and ahead of the vehicle.

The RH-2 black box recorder software also has built-in warning systems that have been proven to modify driver behaviour, which helps to avoid accidents in the first place.

“The GPS mapping overlay uses Google Earth, showing exactly where the vehicle has been and how long it took to get there, which is critical information for fleet managers,” Mr Lubich added.
