South Australia puts on a show

Several hundred panel beaters and spray painters from Adelaide and surrounds took advantage of a trade show this week to see the latest in equipment and services available to them.

The new trade event, which was tailored to the crash repair industry, was hosted by Steven Cavallo’s Body Shop Paint Supplies from Allenby Gardens.

"The trade got to look at a lot of things in one room," Cavallo said. "It means they don’t have to travel interstate to see a lot of these products."

The products on display, which are all distributed through Body Shop Paint Supplies, included a number of new release items, shown to the trade for the first time at the Adelaide show.

These included several products from GPI Automotive, a new Car Repair Solutions range from Melbourne-based Body Shop enterprises, Workmate showed off new Swedish-produced Ekamant "Step-by-Step" car finish system and the range of LIC industrial coatings from Valspar.

Other companies to display at the event included PaintMax with is new inferter spot welder and Autoliner which introduced the new anti-static blow gun and the PX-300 dust buster system which is a wall mounted unit that eliminated static charge.

Globaljig, Henkle, CMC Australia, Anest Iwata, De Beer Cavallo said the range carried by Body shop Paint Supplies were all quality products tested in the workplace before being put on sale to the trade.

Cavallo's father, Mario, who established Body Shop Paint supplies 10 years ago, is still the director of Australian Crash Repairs, a BMW recommended panel and paint repairer and a Subaru preferred repairer.

He said products are first used in the panel shop,  and if they perform well are then stocked by Body Shop Paint Supplies.
