At the end of last year two of Sheen Panel Service apprentice panel technicians who competed in the WorldSkills regionals back in August were acknowledged for their achievements at the medal presentation. Accompanied by their managers, both contenders attended the event with high hopes that proved justified as they walked away with Gold and Silver for automotive body repairs.

Congratulations to Josh Coates from the Bayswater branch bagged the Gold. He was Sheen 2023 Apprentice of the year and continues to excel with his managers praising his display of “rare potential, outstanding work ethic and commitment.” Coates has already received word that he is being scouted as a potential competitor for the Victorian WorldSkills team that will compete next year at the Nationals.

Chris Yiannoudes from Sheen's Hawthorn branch took home Silver. Yiannoudes is a second-year apprentice who according to his manager Chris Gibbons “has a bright future in accident repairs” and he was elated at the award. “Chris has an incredible eye for detail and a drive to learn and perfect his craft.” Chris has a love for the trade that is rare to see, working on his own car after hours at home with the skills and knowledge he learns from his peers and mentors.
