Porsche has unveiled its new Tech Live Look program in the US which enables repairers to use augmented reality to allow remote exports to see what they see and provide feedback to the repairer.

The technology uses smartglasses to connect the repairer through software to the Porsche technical team with a high-definition live video feed.

The technical team can then project step-by-step technical bulletins and schematic drawings onto the display of the repairers glasses as well as take screen shots for better visibility.

The repairer can also use the technology to open and view technical documents while working hands-free on the vehicle.

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) president and CEO Klaus Zellmer said the move would allow partnered repairers to fix cars faster and more efficiently.

“By solving issues faster, our dealer partners can get their customers back into cars with less disruption.

“And our overall service quality increases as we share expertise more efficiently between our experts and dealer technicians.”

The video below highlights what the technology looks like in action and how the interaction between repairer and technical team can work.
