Our final shops in the judging circuit were in ACT and NSW. All good businesses, most suffering from a lack of panelbeaters.
ACT
The ACT market has seen the number of repairers slashed over the last five years which means there are often capacity issues.
Canberra Bodyworks has invested in stunning refurbishment and is an excellently equipped business.
Kelley Bodworks is a medium category bodyshop with excellent throughput and great customer service facilities.
Northside Panel and Paint are hard workers who put their heads down and 'get on with it" which means they have toughed it out difficult market conditions.
NSW
Graham Hill Smash Repairs in Narellen is a family shop run by the very charming Mohammed family. They have recently expanded the workshop and benefit from being in a location with a rapidly expanding populations. (Thanks for the cakes and fruit guys).
G&S Presitige Panelbeaters in Kirrawee was a new one for us. An old workshop but with a recently updated paintshop. This NRMA approved facility has ambitions for another location and a firm eye on growth.
Tom's Autobody in Peakhurst is a relatively new shop and we were just a bit early to visit with a whole new shed being set up for panel repairs. We'll be back next year to see it all completed.
