Initially, Cameron John Dent a spray painter in a suburb of Mackay, was meant to respray a customer's Ford Ranger car bonnet. He took the car to be colour matched but unwisely decided to visit a sex worker during the trip. This was the point when it spiralled out of control.
While he was otherwise engaged the car was stolen. Then used in a crime.
What was meant to be a ‘quick and easy’ $500 spray painting job turned into months of frustration for the car owner thanks to the spray painter’s decision to visit a sex worker. The case is currently being heard in a Mackay local court
