Market research firm, Frost & Sullivan confirms the widely reported possibility of Apple entering the car market.  The technology giant has been highly secretive about its mobility programme, Project Titan.

The company has also recently invested in automotive experts, patent publications related to connected car technology, and a further $10 billion on R&D.

The analysis indicates that a product/and or service is most likely to be released by 2021 and not 2019 as formerly predicted.

“Apple has a long way ahead before its autonomous vehicle becomes a reality. With automotive and technology companies working together to build autonomous cars, Apple is expected to face fierce competition when it launches its product(s)/service(s),” said Frost & Sullivan mobility research analyst Ajay Natteri.

With Apple most likely to centre its product/service around the autonomous market, the company could find itself also grappling with the initial customer fear of full autonomy as well as existing laws and liability issues surrounding the technology.
