HAMR Coatings, an Australian automotive paint manufacturer, founded by a spray painter, for spray painters will sponsor the 2020 Paint & Panel Young Achiever Award for under 21-year-olds.
The company offers a complete coatings solution to panel shops and vehicle restoration businesses, with a range of products from primer through to clear coats.
HAMR is run by a young, entrepreneurial couple Rob and Tiffany Rashleigh who wanted to offer a more cost effective solution for small repair and restoration businesses. The product offering has been a great success and the business has grown rapidly. Rob explains why HAMR Coatings is proud to be sponsoring this award for the Young Achiever.
"The young people coming through now will be the ones to shape the future of our industry. 15 years ago when I started my spray painting apprenticeship, we were told that the most you could hope to achieve was to be a sales rep, or a TAFE teacher. While these are fulfilling careers, we should be demonstrating to young men and women that with hard work anything is possible and that there are many other career opportunities. You might own your own panel shop, work for an insurer, work for a vehicle manufacturer or even, like myself, own your own paint company. Dream big."

What do they win?
They will be flown (where appropriate) to the glittering awards presentation dinner in Melbourne in December (virus permitting) where they will be presented with a trophy. They will also be profiled in Paint & Panel magazine.
