PPG took a group of 20 FleetPool members to Germany in September, where they were given the opportunity to look at some of the future and emerging trends within the commercial transport sector.
Fabian Gaida, PPG development manager refinish ANZ said, “In Germany there is so much happening in the commercial transport (CT) sector and that country tends to take the lead in terms of technology, processes and manufacturing.
“The main focus was visits to the huge Automechanika in Frankfurt and the enormous Hannover Truck Show – probably the biggest truck show on the planet.”
Gaida believes the FleetPool members taken on the trip have gained a market advantage.
“With labour rates across the industry mostly being fixed, the only way for repairers to influence the profit on each job is to use the latest products and best practice processes to improve productivity,” Gaida said.
