Holden's ZB Commodore has been selected to join the South Australian police fleet with the first RS V6 all-wheel drive vehicle being added this week.

Holden is expected to supply more than 100 of the new Commodores as general duty and highway patrol cars.

The 2018 Commodore RS V6 AWD has a five-star ANCAP safety rating with standout safety features including a pedestrian protection system and autonomous emergency braking system.

Holden director of sales Peter Keley said the company was pleased to support SA police efforts and that the safety of the vehicle was paramount to its selection.

“SA police have run an exhaustive comparison of vehicles from every manufacturer and we're proud our latest Commodore has once again proven its credentials when it comes to vehicle safety, durability, dynamics and performance.

“Holden's Australian engineers have worked collaboratively with SA police to ensure this vehicle meets the leading safety and performance requirements needed for modern policing.

“This is the most technologically-advanced Holden ever. Our Holden engineers know what Australian drivers – and police officers – expect from driving a Commodore and this vehicle delivers.”
