I-CAR trainer Garry Maher from L&M Smash Repairs in Sydney wanted to share the story of an industry legend, Harry Pearce.

"Harry Pearce or H as everyone called him was employed by my father over 35 years ago. Harry was the best chassis repairer I have ever seen but his other talents included drawings, flying and basically anything he put his mind to.

"I had the pleasure of working with Harry up until his retirement to look after his wife in 2015. Unfortunately Harry lost Sue back in 2017 and spent the last three years on his own. A few weeks back I got a call from Marshal Duncan in Narrabri looking for some help in training a new beater to do some structural chassis repairs.

"Harry had trained some of his staff years earlier so the decision was made to call Harry and see if he was interested in going to Narrabri for a week of in-house instruction. This has obviously set a spark in Harry’s old fire and he has visited L&M Smash three or for time over the last fortnight.

"We have been so happy to see him and that he has committed to travel to Narrabri and also spend time at L&M Smash training and assisting the younger staff. When you have a look at (I call it) Harry’s training program (Harry's training program download) you will see all the drawings and instructions are entirely freehand which is exceptional. If some of the spelling is a bit off can there were never any mistakes in his completed analysis of repairs. We look forward to another rewarding association with Harry and can’t wait to hear how the Narrabri trip panned out."
