U-POL Australia has experienced a high volume of calls from distributors and repairers regarding body filler adhesion to original paint. The source seems to be an insurer who has said that if the product data sheet does not mention you can apply filler over a pre-painted substrate, then you can’t do it.
The company wants to assure customers that U-POL products are ideal for this purpose.
U-POL’s complete range of bodyfiller; Deep, Medium, Fine and Speciality all adhere to sanded original paint (with the exception of thermoplastic acrylics) as outlined in the product TDS.
