BMW Group Australia's is sticking to its guns on its commitment to aftersales excellence with the delivery of comprehensive technician training for the latest BMW product requirements.

The programme walked technicians through a 'Level 2' course in structural repair ticking off BMW's bonding and riveting procedures.

The course geared a focus towards the fundamentals of steel so that students could glean a greater understanding of the different steel subtrates used on BMW vehicles.

The programme is a partnership between Chisholm Institute, I-Car Australia and Car-O-Liner Academt, with BMW Insurance donating materials, consumables and vehicle bodies for the training.

BMW Group Australia's GM aftersales Stephan Rausch said that the company will continue its commitment to technican training.

“Our vehicles are fitted with class-leading technology, and without the correct training platform or providing the knowledge to repair these vehicles back to factory standard, it can have a direct effect to the brand’s integrity.

"It can also directly impact the value of a customer’s investment in our product.

“We will continue to provide world-class training to our technicians, including professional development for bodyshop managers and estimators, and to embrace potential future leaders that are looking to progress through the ranks of the bodyshop industry.”

BMW will roll out the next phase of its training programme later in the year.
