ACM Parts will donate cars and auto parts to TAFE students as a result of a partnership forged with Chisholm Institute.

The donations will be used to train and develop TAFE apprentices at Chisholm across 14 mechanical and collision repair disciplines offered across its automotive courses.

In line with the partnership, ACM Parts will work alongside Chisholm students to fully restore a car which will then be auctioned off for charity at the end of the project.

ACM Parts CEO Mike Kirkman said that the partnership was sparked on supporting future bodyshop repairers.

“ACM Parts is dedicated to making sure the best people enter the automotive industry and that starts with the provision of high quality education.

“Investing in students by making sure they have access to the best possible parts, equipment and knowledge means we are investing in the future of the automotive industry.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Chisholm to support the next generation of automotive experts.”

“As a relatively new Australian business with plans to expand, we want to foster the development of a highly skilled workforce.”

Chisholm Institute executive director for engineering, technology and trades Andrew Kong said that ACM Parts' support could help bolster employment opportunities in the industry.

“This partnership is unique in that it not only contributes to quality education and training outcomes for students and apprentices entering the job market for the first time, but will also support retrenched workers from areas of the automotive and component manufacturing sector who are seeking to transition into new employment opportunities.”
