There were some great entries for the 201 DuPont/Paint and Panel sustainability awards.
As well as all the usual recycling and waste separation, these businesses had all put in extra care to their sustainability ethos and toward developing a greener working culture.
Here are some of the sustainable initiatives from the finalists, which both save their businesses money and help to protect the environment.
BF Panels, Albury NSW
Owners Bob, Scott and Mark French installed a 10 KW solar panel system (55 panels) in early 2011 and have watched their power bills plummet.
AutoCare Panel Works, Darwin, NT

As well as all the usual recycling and MTA Green Stamp compliance, this shop uses a scooter for customer car deliveries and pick ups to save on fuel.
Surrey Panel Care, Surrey Hills, Vic
Sandpaper is reused as much as is practical, old rags are kept for spills and clean up, office paper is reused and recycled.
