I-CAR Australia CEO, Richard Pratt, has announced that agreement has been reached for I-CAR to deliver a collision industry training program for motor assessors who assess vehicles for NRMA Insurance, SGIO, SGIC and RACV.
"This is an Australian insurance industry first – a tailored collision repair training program and I-CAR certification will be delivered to more than 400 motor assessors nationally," Pratt said.
"Following extensive consultation, I-CAR developed a specific training package for insurance motor assessors. I-CAR will not only deliver the courses, but will also provide industry recognition and accreditation to students for the successful completion of the three-year training program."
Pratt said the training will begin next month and will cover new technology and repair methods to help motor assessors work with repairers to get cars back on the road.
"The signing of the agreement to deliver the program to NRMA Insurance, SGIO, SGIC and RACV motor assessors is a great milestone for I-CAR," he said.
"It builds on the enormous effort that has seen I-CAR achieve an enviable reputation within the Australian automotive collision industry."
