Best of the best

The best of the best for 2010 gathered to celebrate what is great about the collision repair industry.

Repairers from Western Australia, Victoria and NSW topped the list of winners when the collision repair industry gathered for the AAMI/Australasian Paint & Panel Autobody Repairer of the Year Awards.

Repairers from all mainland states converged on Sydney to hear the announcement of the three national winners.

The winner of the small shop was CNR Autobody from Bankstown, NSW, operated by brothers Camille and Romeo Nader.

The large shop winner was Stylemaster Panels from Richmond, Victoria, run by Philip Stewart and his family.

Best new shop was Cockburn Car Craft from Birba Lake, WA, run by Ashley and Taren Jardine.

About 70 repairers and representatives from the trade and suppliers joined Paint & Panel and AAMI to celebrate this great achievement.

Suncorp Group’s personal insurance division, head of motor claims, Sean Dempsey, said:

“I’d like to congratulate this year’s winners for their courage in business and commitment to excellence in smash repairs. It was an impressive field, and I’m sure the judges had their work cut out for them.

“I’d also like to thank and congratulate everyone who submitted a nomination. I believe pride in your business is a fundamental tenet of success.”

Ashley Jardine said it was a wonderful surprise to win. “We never expected it. We knew we had a great repair shop, but the workshops this year were to a very high standard,” he said.

“I never could have done this without the help from my wife Taren who does our accounting and my daughters, Zoey who works in reception and Celeste who works in reception at our Port Kennedy repair shop.

“Celeste studies marketing and business and dose all our marketing for both shops.

“We have a great team at both our facilities and that is our key to success. This award will help us push the business to its next stage.”
