NACE moves to Florida

International NewsNACE is on the move, with organisers to host the October 2011 event in the city of Orlando, Florida.

The decision to move from NACE’s traditional home of Las Vegas, Nevada, came after organisers surveyed the industry to decide the future of ASRW, NACE and CARS.

“We received a tremendous response from across the industry and as a direct result of the majority consensus from those surveys, we’re thrilled to announce the event is moving to Orlando in 2011 and returning to a Thursday to Saturday day pattern, with the conference beginning held on Wednesday,” a NACE spokesperson said.

ASRW, NACE and CARS 2011 will see the expo held from 6 to 8 October and the conference from 5 to 8 October, at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando.

In a statement, organisers said once the data was in from the surveys, they started the negotiations to cancel the 2011 contract with the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre and the headquarter hotels.

Additionally, the surveys provided several points of data that the organisers believe were important for the future of the event.

Overwhelmingly, the industry wanted the show to rotate geographically around the US, take place in October/November, and over a Thursday to Saturday pattern.

Through the survey, the orgainsers solicited the preferred city in each segment of the country – east coast, midwest and west coast.

On the east coast, Orlando was ranked as the number one option.

The survey showed that the industry was tired of the event being permanently located in Las Vegas, but people still overwhelmingly preferred Las Vegas when the event rotates to the west coast.

The organisers said rotating the event will keep it fresh, attract more of the exhibitors the industry want to see at the show, and allow some people, who perhaps haven’t been attending since the event has been in Las Vegas, to return to the industry’s primary source of education, training and networking.

Preparations for the 2011 event are well underway. Housing for the 2011 event will open in late (US) spring and will feature a variety of options, ranging in price from $US99 to $US200.

Registration for attendees and exhibitors will later this year. See www.asrwevents.com for more information.
