After a year in which student attendance at I-CAR Live training courses grew by almost 40 per cent, the organisation has released its training calendar for the first half of 2011.
CEO Richard Pratt said that among the selected courses were a range of new courses that were aligned even more closely to employee-specific roles within the industry.
For some time I-CAR has been concentrating on being not only an industry-specific training organisation, but a recent review of the courses saw the development of seven specific roles within the industry.
Each role was closely examined and, from the complete live training catalogue of some 120 topics, the individual courses were mapped against the requirements of the roles as part of a professional development program.
Coupled with that has been the recent launch of brand-specific training, which has received great feedback from the industry, Pratt said.
I-CAR recently announced a new training alliance with the Volkswagen and Porsche group. This increases to 10 the number of international vehicle makers who engage I-CAR for their training requirements.
Some of the new courses scheduled for the first half of 2011 include Plastic Adhesive Repair, an updated New Technologies course that includes information on the newest trends in manufacturing from around the world as well as specific information on over 40 individual models, and the Collision Repair for Toyota and Lexus models, which focuses on the most popular models within those brands.
From the information provided, the second half of 2011 will also feature more local brand- specific courses, including some developed by the Australian arm of the organisation.
I-CAR is also intending to supplement its Live Training course delivery with an increasing level of hands-on or practical support training.
Further details on I-CAR delivery options will be provided on a continuing basis throughout the year.
