Many companies promote their toughness and durability of their equipment and recently, Hyundai had a great example of how strong their equipment can be.
Hyundai has more than 70 models in its forklifts production range, from 1.5 ton up to 16 ton Flexilift.
In just one example of just how tough Hyundai materials handling machinery can be, a Hyundai piece of equipment weighing 22 tons was on top of a trailer and heading east on Interstate 70 in Kansas, US, when it decided to ram a bridge.
The extended shovel arm was made of hardened refined steel and the approaching overpass bridge was made of commercial-grade concrete, reinforced with 1 1/2 inch steel bar spaced at six inch intervals in a criss-cross pattern layered at a 1 foot vertical spacing.
After the collision, it was the concrete bridge that came out second best, with the Hyundai loader looking virtually unscathed.
