GPI’s new warehouse in Launceston means Tasmanian distributors have greater access to the company’s range.
GPI’s new Launceston warehouse is now in full operation and has had its official opening with a dinner for distributors at the Launceston Casino.
More than 30 distributors came from all around Tasmania for the opening of the warehouse.
Colin Edwards, CEO of the GPI Group of companies, has been traveling to Tasmania on a regular basis for a period of more than 25 years and the opening of this warehouse - and the ease for the distributor to obtain goods quickly - was warmly welcomed by all in attendance.
In the past, flammable goods dispatched to Tasmania took up to three weeks to arrive due to the consolidation of freights by carriers, and this is now all a thing of the past.
Tasmanian distributors will now have their goods invoiced on the spot and can pick up, or have delivered, goods on the same or next day which will greatly improve their service aspect to their customers.
Joe Quittenden, who has experience in the fitness and bicycle industries, is now Tasmanian manager and he is ably backed up by Andrew Breward who is experienced in the refinish industry.
GPI Launceston will carry stocks of all automotive refinish products as well as stocks of GPI’s health and fitness and bicycle businesses.
GPI Launceston is the sixth GPI warehouse in Australia with GPI now based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Tasmania.
GPI’s address is 5-7 Herbert Street, Invermay, Launceston which is right next to the football ground. Phone 03 6334 7955, fax 03 6334 7966 or email joe@gpi.com.au.
