Ford in the UK has come up with a write-off avoidance programme designed to reduce the number of total loss vehicles experienced by Ford Accident Repair Centres (FARCs).
To assist in borderline cases, FARCs can contact Ford to request additional support towards the parts element of the repair. This support can then be passed on to the relevant insurance company in order to reduce the overall repair cost so that it may fall below the write-off threshold.
Only Ford vehicles can be considered in this program and the vehicle must be considered as a borderline write-off. Only Ford OE Parts may be used in the repair to qualify for this Ford support.
Holden has re-engineered the vehicle safety structure that protects the battery pack following fires which broke out in accident damaged vehicles.
