Fender Bender: 250km/h commute

Could this be the commuter transport of the near future? Superbus is an innovative and sustainable public transport system which combines the benefits of a high-speed rail link with the flexibility of a car. Low air resistance and an electric engine means Superbus emits less than half the amount of CO2 of a standard car. It is charged with a lithium polymer battery pack. and the infrastructure needed for Superbus is much cheaper than other high-speed alternatives.

Passengers call up Superbus via a text message or the internet. The routes can be flexible, as it can either travel on high-speed tracks (250 km/hour), or normal roads.

Superbus is the brainchild of Professor Wubbo Ockels, a Dutch physicist and a former ESA astronaut. In 1985 he flew in a space shuttle, making him the first Dutch citizen in space.
