Complete solution for quoting and management

With positive feedback from users of their beta version of iGen, the developers of the latest VQS solution for quoting and body shop management are set to release their consumer version of the package.

According to VQS chief executive officer, Jude Antonito, one of the great advantages of the iGen package is its compatibility with various operating systems.

It will operate with Windows 2008 and Windows 7 as well as Windows XP. He said with hardware now coming standard with Windows 7, and Windows XP no longer being available, other quoting and management packages were coming up with compatibility issues.

iGen has been developed to support multiple platforms, Antonito said. He said some 20 customers were using the software. “We want to make sure these customers are happy and the software is working properly,” he said.

In fact, the company is about to release a new version of iGen following the trials.

According to Antonito, user friendliness and time-savings are among the advantages of the new iGen solution, with the packages aimed at the medium to larger-sized body repair shops.

The iGen command centre has been streamlined and the system has the ability to operate on multiple screens.

Utilising two screens means the user can easily copy data from one site to another, without having to open and close different windows on the one screen, making for a more efficient workflow. “You can copy and paste between multiple sites using multiple screens,” Antonito said.

Part of the design of the data display was to minimise the need for sideways scrolling, meaning that the information needed is presented cleanly across the screen.

Using a tab-style layout also allows iGen users to open multiple quotes within the one window and click between each.

Another feature of the system includes the incorporation of NTAR and RTAR and the support of multiple times platforms. “When an insurance company produces new data, it can be built into the system,” he said.

The entire system is scaleable for use with various format databases and has a multi-site application.
There is also a facility for notes  for internal use, allowing additional information for jobs to be added during the quoting and repair process.

There are “butterfly” pictures of vehicles built into the software that allows users to simply click on a component to retrieve the relevant information.

Another strong feature of the VQS approach to business is the back-up and technical support.
Customers will be answered within 15 minutes, according to Devan Antonito.

VQS offers back-up and technical support between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and emergency support on Saturdays between 8am and 1pm.

“There is a direct line and customers are addressed in 15 minutes,” Devan said. “No customer needs to leave a voice mail; they will talk to someone.

“We have highly trained technical support staff who are trained on multiple software.”

Training for iGen is done through site visits with face-to-face training sessions and includes interactive documents to help with the learning process. “But it’s hard to make a mistake with this software,” Antonito said.

One of the features of the system is quote validation that shows if something is missing or something has been done incorrectly.
