Global supplier AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Australia has reinforced its commitment to the Australian industry by taking up the major sponsorship of the 2011 Collision Repair Expo, to be held in Melbourne from 12 to 14 May 2011.
AkzoNobel will headline its Sikkens brand through the sponsorship campaign which will feature prominently on expo promotion material and signage.
The company will also participate in special expo events, including the international seminar series and live demonstrations in an onsite spray booth.
AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Australasia general manager, Joe McFadries, said the company was proud to be named the official major sponsor of the Collision Repair Expo 2011.
“AkzoNobel has been an exhibitor since 2007. We are excited to be extending this association and look forward to working with the AAAA,” he said.
“As the major sponsor, we reinforce our commitment to supporting Australia’s official industry automotive aftermarket trade show, where the latest collision repair technology, products and services are showcased.”
AAAA executive director, Stuart Charity, welcomed the decision by AkzoNobel to take on major sponsor status for the 2011 Collision Repair Expo.
“AkzoNobel is a significant international player in the industry and we are delighted that they have become an expo partner,” Charity said.
“To secure this leading international refinish company as our marquee sponsor 19 months out from the event sends a strong message about the underlying strength of the expo, and the health of the collision repair sector.
“We have been overwhelmed by the strong exhibitor response to the 2011 expo.
"More than 60 per cent of the 21,000sqm of available space has already been taken up by previous exhibitors, including industry leaders GPI Automotive Products, 3M Australia, Autoliner, Car-O-Liner, De Beer Australia, BASF Coatings, Sydney Automotive Paint & Equipment, BTB Auto Glass & Body Shop Tools, SIA Abrasives, and more.
“So, once we formally launch the show to the wider industry, we anticipate that the remaining space will sell quickly.
“We look forward to working in partnership with the team at AkzoNobel to ensure that the 2011 Collision Repair Expo eclipses the success of the 2007 and 2009 events.”
